Giveaway: Furminator De-Shedding Tool

Furminator_deshedding_tool_for_cats

Today is National Hairball Awareness Day, and to celebrate, we’re giving away a Furminator De-Shedding Tool to one lucky reader.

We explained yesterday why a hairball is rarely just a hairball, and that frequent hairballs are not part of a normal life with cats.

Regular brushing and grooming can help prevent hairballs (but it’s not the only thing that can). When it comes to getting rid of loose hair, there are few tools that get the job done better than the Furminator De-Shedding Tool.

To enter the giveaway, please tell me in a comment why you would like to win this tool, and specify whether you’d like the large or small tool and whether it’s for a short haired or long haired cat. For an additional chance to win, tweet about this giveaway or share on Facebook, and post the link in a separate comment. This giveaway ends Friday, May 4.

For more information about the deshedding tool, please visit the Furminator website or their Facebook page.

I would LOVE to win this! I have three cats. One longer haired and two short haired babies. We could definitely use the bigger one. I am constantly finding tuffs puffy fluff all throughout my apartment. Our kitties would definitely put the Furminator to good use!!

I have two short haired, rescued cats – this tool would help them with not only hairballs but in not getting their Daddy full of fur on his clothes – save me money on lint brushes…

I have three kitties and brushing which they love just isn’t enough to keep the loose hair fro flying or those horrible hairballs..they do not like that paste stuff that can be eaten off their paws and I hate giving unnecessary Med to my fur babies
Thus would be purr-fect! Either size”

I have 6 cats (3 of my own and 3 fosters) and this would SO help with the build up of cat hair on the furniture. I try to brush them daily (time permitting) and I still need to vacuum twice a week!

We would like one because we have three cats who all suffer from hairballs from time to time, and as a student, the cost of the Furminator is somewhat daunting. The small short hair one would be great!

Hi, my name is Poodee and I am a large handsome boy with long hair. Please help me, I am driving my humans crazy with all of the hair I leave all over the place. I even huffed out a large hairball on my human’s pillow. I love them and I know that they love me regardless, but a furminator would be wonderful for all of us. Please help!
    Thanks,
    Poodee

We took in a tiny feral cat last year, who was – surprise! – pregnant! We now share our world with SIX beautiful babies…which generates a LOT of fur! This tool would be a godsend during our seemingly constant grooming cycle! Our girls would most likely need the small, long haired tool. Thanks!!

I just took in a stray 3 weeks ago. She is a long haired black mostly sweet heart. LOL.
She is doing well. She has had a few hair ball episodes and would love to clean her fur up a bit. I took her for a bath and to the vet.
I would love the one that is small and for long haired cat,

I have 3 wonderful cats with medium length. Unfortunately two of them are not the best groomers. One because he is so old and one because he so large. The older one has an undercoat that only the furminator can get at effectively. I have one fulminator, but a 3 floor house. So it never seems to be where I need it. I’d love to have another so that I can take advantage of opportune moments.
    Thanks!

My cat, Rocky, seems to have an endless supply of hair. I usually describe it as never-ending tissue box! I’ve tried three different brushes, but none of them have been good enough. He is still coughing up hairballs occassionally. He also seems to have sensitive skin and the brushes I’ve tried cause him to have a lot of dandruff. I think the large sized furminator is exactly what my short haired black kitty needs! It would make him very happy! 🙂

I have three cats, one of them long-haired. I have one large Furminator for my two Labs, but it is too big for the cats. It is a wonderful tool, and would certainly help to keep the fur out of the air, food and their tummies!

Four forever cats (ages 4 to 20) and frequent foster kittens from the local shelter equals lots of hair (and hairballs) everywhere. It would be really great to have something to help out. If it works half as well as the advertising says it would be a real godsend. Large tool for a short haired cats would work the best. Thank you.

Other than for general grooming, I have a mega colon kitty, and a hairball could send him to the ER (again). We’re trying to avoid surgery as he is also FIV+ and has other medical issues. He is medium haired, and I would prefer the large tool. Thanks for the chance!

Bob is a big black fluffy rescue kitty I’ve had for eleven years, and leaves enough fur on the floor to make a new cat. Heaven knows how much he ingests as he grooms. I’d LOVE to have something that would help thin his fur out and help him to be healthy for another eleven years.

Momma Cat and Puff-Puff could really use the large Furminator-they are two, long haired cats;mother and daughter! Many times while grooming themselves we see them swallowing a
wad of fur. Needless to say-a lot of their fur also ends up on our clothing and we have lint rollers in many rooms of our house.

Where do I begin?! I have 5 feline roomates, 1 foster, and 2 dogs! I use my lint brush on my bed nightly, even tho I use a sheet as a cover(they go under it to sleep!) Their hair ranges from short to meduim. I have one boy that has always been a heavy shedder, year round. Of course I brush and comb, but reality says there isnt enough time in the day, with a full time job too! =^.^=

I would like to win the large tool for short haired cats. My older sister recommended that I get a Furminator a while ago but it is quite out of my price range. I have 3 cats, 2 that like to be brushed and one who doesn’t like it too much but desperately needs it. He is just so furry! But he also has very sensitive skin so a gentle tool that could get a lot of hair in a short amount of strokes would be ideal for him. Thanks!

We have two cats that would benefit from a FURminator, but it is Thomas the 20 lb long haired cat that is asking that I enter this contest. He is tired of hacking up hairballs and that little wire brush his Mom (that be me, the typist) uses just isn’t getting the job done. Thomas thinks he would LOVE to be brushed with the FURminator! And Thomas is right! 🙂

My mother’s cat, Missy, is the biggest shedder in the whole world. My mother brushes her daily and gives her special treats to cut down on hair balls but she still sheds enough to make three more of her. She is a short haired cat so its that much more amazing that she sheds the amount she does. We had a German shepherd/ husky dog whose fur would come out in chunks twice a year but even that was not as bad as Missy! If we had a tool to get rid of our poor cat’s extra/ loose hair it would be amazing!! Thanks!

My 3 critters LOVE brushy time (well, 2 out of 3 anyway). All I have to do is pull out the brush and say “brushy brushy?” and they come running, tails popped and purring. The 2 boys are shorthaired and my girl is longhaired, though the boys tend to shed just as much. My girl has had trouble with hairballs on and off since she was a kitten, but regular brushing helps keep it to a minimum. Grooming services are unfortunately not in our budget (neither is a Furminator for that matter lol) so we do everything DIY at home – brushes, washes, sani-clips, nails, etc. We’d love a small Furminator to take our DIY grooming to the next level! 🙂
