Review and giveaway: I’d Rather Be a Cat by Allia Zobel Nolan

I'd rather be a cat allia zobel nolan

I’d Rather Be a Cat: The Official “Better Than Dogs” Cat Book confirms once and for all what most of us already know: cats are better than dogs. Bestselling author and ailurophile Allia Zobel Nolan provides inexorable proof, with a little help from her three feline children, why cats are leaving their canine competition in the dust.

Consider the following:

  • Cats don’t have self esteem issues. They don’t jump all over their humans for approval.
  • You’ll never have to douse a cat with tomato juice, because cats are smart enough to know that skunks are not to be messed with.
  • Cats don’t beg. It’s not their style.

These, and other, often laugh-out-loud funny, statements will have cat lovers nod in recognition, and will lay to rest the eternal debate about who is better: cats or dogs. Because there can only be one right answer.

This adorable little book makes a purrfect gift for cat lovers.

Well, of course I would want to win this book, because it’s about cats. I can just see me sitting there in bed reading it aloud to my three cats, all of whom are curled up around me gazing up at me adoringly…yeah right, who am I kidding??? 😛 I’ll just have to enjoy it on my own!

I’m pawsitive that cats are the best animals – currently have 3 but have had a cat all my life.
The book would just add to my knowledge.

I think this book would be the perfect resource, to which I could refer in the never ending battle with friends regarding the superiority of cats, to dogs as pets, and why I am constantly accused of being a crazy cat lady! 🙂 As well, we already have too many books out there about dogs (yes, I’ve even bought a few!)…so time for the cats to catch up in the literary world. Oh…my cat, Cirrus (17 y/o all white medium-hair) is telling me all about it now too…how he thinks this is a great idea! Many thanks!!!

Hello! I would love to win this book since I cannot recall ever not being a cat-lover. Even as a child to the present day, my life has been surrounded by cats in every aspect. Cats have touched my heart with unconditional love. Cats have provided comfort for me when needed the most. . . When All Else Fails, Hug The Cat. Heartwarming memories of our cats who have journeyed across the Rainbow Bridge have been seered into my memory banks. Cats have helped me smile and laugh as well as cry and express deep sorrow from within my soul. At times, crazy at it may seem, I truly believe I may be a reincarnated cat since it seems apparent that we can ‘speak’ to one another with complete understanding. As you say, there can only be one right answer to rest the eternal debate about who is better: cats or dogs. The answer is, Cats Rule, Dogs Drool! I can already envision myself nodding in recognition of this fact if I win this book. I promise to enjoy reading it & sharing what I learn with other cat-lovers for ages to come. Thanks So Much! <3

So happy I found your website and am really enjoying all your interesting blogs. Would love to have a free book to make me laugh and draw my attention away from physical pain as they say the more you laugh, the less your pain will be. Thanks for the offer!

I would love to win this book because I am a professional pet sitter with over 2000 cats on file that are “active” clients. In the 10 years of doing this I am always amazed everyday at the antics that go on. I have many cat books that I can reference for serious issues and love to have some that are for fun and to laugh at as well. Cats are my life. No I wouldn’t say I’m the crazy cat lady, others would, but I just consider myself blessed that I actually get paid to pet kitties for a living. Don’t get me wrong though, I don’t feel to blessed when they decide to attack me instead. 🙂 Anyhow, I love you blog and try to watch for your posts on fb on a regular basis. I have 4 cats of my own, and have had 6 that have past to the rainbow bridge in the last 9 years. It’s been hard, so we could use some laughs around here. 🙂 Someday remind me to write to you and tell you how a bengal kitty flooded a brand spanking new house and totally ruined their distressed hardwood floors throughout the main floor. The things I see pet sitting….unbelievable mischief these guys can get into, and then they point the finger at the pet sitter when the pet parents get home.

I need this book to finally prove to my husband why cats are the best pets. He says he would trade all three of our cats for just one dog!
