I know none of really need scientific studies to tell us that cats are the most amazing creatures on the planet, but it’s still nice to see that there are more and more studies confirming just how awesome cats are. A recent article on cbc.ca rounded up a number of studies of how smart they are and how good they are for us. Read more about how awesome cats are on cbc.ca.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we brought you an exclusive interview with Rita Mae Brown, on Monday, we provided in-depth information on feline tooth resorprtion, on Tuesday, we reviewed Castor & Pollux Organix and Pristine canned foods, on Wednesday, I told you about  my visit to the first kitten nursery in the Washington DC area, on Thursday, Allegra talked about how much she loves being brushed, and on Friday, we reviewed the Eating with Cats Coloring Book.

Today’s video of a mom hugging her kitten is sure to make you go “awww!” (If you’re reading this in your email program, you may need to click through to our site to view the video. Not all email programs support embedded video.)

I recently got a Tortie for my nieces birthday, and it was a huge hit with her. Both my niece and the tortie, which she named Mimi, have been getting along quite amazingly together.

I love my Tortie too the moon and back but now she is becoming a Daddy’s girl. She will always be my princess. We cannot leave her alone over night because she is quite needy and does need a human touch but she is good for me and hubby even if her Meow sounds more like a scream for attention and yes so true how cats can manipulate you into getting what they want. She does not want to drink from her bowl of water she wants faucet water. If I turn the faucet on high speed she’ll drink from her bowl

That’s too funny about the faucet, Debbie – I guess she likes the sound effect of running water when she drinks from her bowl!
