A Journey of 1,000 Miles: Jackson Galaxy Saves Dozens of Kittens

Jackson-Galaxy-homeward-bound

On Monday, Jackson Galaxy and his wife Minoo started a 1,000 mile journey from Los Angeles to Boulder, CO to save the lives of dozens of kittens through a new program by the Jackson Galaxy Foundation, Homeward Bound.

Jackson and Minoo were alarmed at the situation at the overcrowded shelters in their community. Partnering with Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, and various corporate sponsors, Jackson got behind the wheel to drive the kittens from LA to Boulder.

Jackson shared live videos from his journey  on the Jackson Galaxy Foundation Facebook page, and will be livestreaming from Boulder again this morning. Be sure to watch to learn more about this incredible journey, meet the kittens, and find out how you can get involved!

The Jackson Galaxy Foundation, a 501(c)3 tax exempt charity founded in 2014 by Animal Planet’s My Cat from Hell star Jackson Galaxy, is the realization of Jackson’s long-standing dream of improving the lives of animals at risk and helping the people who care for them. The website http://www.jacksongalaxyfoundation.org enables visitors to sign up for Mojo alerts to help animals in need, keep up with the latest news from founder Jackson Galaxy, and honor a cherished pet to benefit the organization’s mission.

Got nothing on me, Jackson. I moved 33 cats from Florida to Mississippi! More than half are feral. They adjusted so well and are loving their new sanctuary. Humane Society of Highland’s County and dominoshouse.org in Palm City, FL. cheered us on with donations and love. We travelled just short of 1000 miles. Blessings on these wonderful creatures and the people who love them!

    Ingrid,

You had a great time! Everything, cat/kitten, that is the place I would have liked to be.

And most important, you met, Lil BUB! And held her. And pictures to boot! Envy Envy……! Mike took some nice pictures of both of you.

How about saving adult cats???? Kittens go fast at our shelters in California. Adults need homes, too!
