Mews and Nips: Real Men Love Cats Edition

James-Bowen-Street-Cat-Bob

Today’s Mews and Nips edition celebrates men who love cats. Here at The Conscious Cat, we love prominent cat guys like Jackson Galaxy and James Bowen, but a cat man doesn’t have to be a celebrity for us to be a little smitten. We simply have a soft spot for any guy who loves cats. Why? We think a man’s love for cats also makes him a good person. Cat men tend to be more responsible than your average guy. Coached by the cats they love, they understand the spirit of independence most women treasure. They usually have personality and then some. And most of all, they know how to love.

We love Alex Lubow, who decided he would take his adopted special needs kitty, Winslow, to JC Penney’s for a family portrait. “I was certainly getting lots of looks,” Alex said. “I sat around with the other families. Of course all of them had their little babies and newborns, and seemed pretty upset that my kitten was probably 10 times cuter.” LoveMeow reports that once Alex posted the photos on Imgur, a popular photo sharing site, they instantly they went viral. Thanks to the internet fame, Alex has raised enough money for Winslow’s surgery (Winslow has luxating patellas.) Visit LoveMeow.com for the full story and more adorable photos of Alex and Winslow.

We also love our friends at RC Tees, who designed this wonderful t-shirt so all cat guys can proudly proclaim their love of cats. The shirt is available in several colors and styles from the RC Tees Etsy Shop. The photo shows one of RC Tees owners, Mark Nicholson, who is company supervisor Abby’s favorite cat man.

If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, we addressed the issue of distemper vaccines for adult cats, on Tuesday, Allegra and Ruby reviewed the new Bird Catcher Pro EX, on Wednesday, we provided information on how to make sure your cat is cared for in the event that something happens to you, on Thursday, Ruby showed off her agility skills, and on Friday, we reviewed the heartwarming book My Best Little Buddy by Tom Templeman.

In keeping with our theme, today’s video shows what I think must be one of the most amazing cat hugs ever!

Have a great weekend!

I am just swooning over that video – just proves once again that animals do have feelings…

As far as cat loving men, I am quite blessed to have one of my own. Dan adores our cats and they adore him back. The companionship they give him is a gift that is priceless and we are one big, cat loving family!

Love the Alex story and, of course, love the whole gang over at RCtees!!!!

As Abby’s mom and Mark’s better half I will attest to the love these two share. She has Mr. 6’6″ wrapped right around her little kitty pinky paw…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
You know I’m a HUGE Jackson and James fan…and now a fan of Alex. And the cat daddy in the video…is that not the most precious interaction!!

Thanks so much Ingrid, for sharing these pretty terrific REAL men!! ♥toni

Its a fact that mostly its women who are most attracted and attached to cats than men. Most cat clubs have women holding prominent posts as also the cat breeding Industry.the term “Cat Fights” and “Cat Walks” are slso associated with women as dogs are more popular pets with men. I owned dogs before taking up cats as pets as cats are easier to maintain than dogs, especially for a bachelor. Many prominent men have been cat lovers and owners and i personally love cats for their aloof temperament, akin to a wild animal.Cats are the closest human pets that resemble nature’s wild “Big Cats’ and this could be the main reason that most men prefer cats as pets, including myself.
