Mews and Nips: Paris Opens Its First Cat Cafe

Paris_Cat_Cafe

I love seeing the concept of cat cafes spreading. Cat cafes have been in existence in Japan for quite some time, but the idea is slower to catch on in other parts of the world. Recently, Paris opened its first cat cafe. Time Magazine reports that the Café de Chats is home to 12 felines who treat it like their personal living room and just roam around as customers go about their business. The goal is to provide some “purr therapy” to Parisians who can’t keep pets in their tiny urban apartments. All 12 of the cafe’s cats are rescues adopted from local shelters – and I love that at least one of them is a tortie! Read the full story in Time Magazine.

If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: On Monday, we explained why declawing cats is unnecessary and inhumane, on Tuesday, we defined what being a cat lady really means, on Wednesday, we shared the story of an amazing rescue, and on Friday, we reviewed a beautiful cat book titled The Elegance of the Cat. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a t-shirt from Alley Cat Allies!

Today’s video made me laugh out loud – now that’s a determined kitty!

Have a great weekend!

Any pets, not only cats are excellent non-human companions for de-stressing after a hard days work or just plain relaxation at home.I have owned pets since childhood and at present own 2 Traditional Persian cats and a Alexandrine parakeet which liven my house and help me as a “Blogger”. Cats are very popular pets in Japan and seems the business of “Cat Cafe’s” is expanding to other country’s besides Japan with London introducing “Cat Cafe’s” and now Paris.
