Mews and Nips: Cat Reunited with Guardian Thanks to Facebook Ad

Our first story is a testament to the power of social media. Mashable reports that Zion, a ragdoll cat who went missing in Chelmsfold, England was reunited with his guardian as a result of a Facebook ad. When flyers and going door to door for two days didn’t help, James Wooley crated the Facebook page Find Zion. “I put out a status update, asking my friends to look at the page, like it and share it to try to get some reach outside of my network,” said Woodley. “A handful of people liked it and asked a few questions.” Woodley also purchased Facebook ads that pointed towards the page he had created. The ads were targeted to people in his town, a suburb of London. After the ads went live, it took just 30 minutes for the first tip to come in - a tip that turned out to be correct. Has New York’s Fashion Week gone to the cats? During Fashion Week, designers display their latest collections in runway shows, and buyers and the media get a first look at the new trends. I’m not much of a fashionista, but as far as outfits go, I’d venture to bet that this one was unique among the designer duds. Is this cat couture a fashion “do” or “don’t?” You decide. For more pictures and a video of the girl showing off her cat suit, visit Buzzfeed.

I first heard about the Rufus Tower on Catsparella. Billy Browne’s cat Rufus suffered from a painful ear infection, and Browne had to administer ear drops every day. Browne felt terrible because “I would return from work, and he would run from me!” Once Rufus’s ear infection cleared, Browne decided to reward him with a special present, and built a massive maze using 40 cardboard boxes. “I wanted to do something to show my gratitude for his putting up with my torture,” said Browne. “Rufus loves boxes as all cats do, so this is what I made for him.”

The video made me smile and cry at the same time – what an incredible act of love from a devoted cat dad. Enjoy!

  1. Especially lovely stories for Zion and Rufus!
    I want the box castle!

    • Ingrid says:

Allegra and Ruby have already put in a request for their own box castle, Texas. Of course, they’re forgetting that their mom has no talent whatsoever when it comes to building things…

  2. I’m still blurry eyed from the box video – Rufus has such a sweet personality and I loved how he watched his human draft the drawing!

  3. Esme says:

I think it is time for our kitties to have a tower. Because they each have their own bedroom and a box in our bedroom and boxes in the living room why not a tower.
